Less than a week and we are there, in the Riviera Maya, right after Hurricane Paula departs. MEXICO CITY, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The governor of the southern Mexican state Quintana Roo, Felix Gonzalez Canto, declared an orange alert Tuesday for three tourist areas that may suffer up to 120 millimeters of rain due to Hurricane Paula. "Activity in Quintana Roo can continue as normal, but small boats sailing between Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Puerto Juarez will be halted at 4.00 pm," Gonzalez told media at a public event in the Caribbean coast resort Cancun. The orange alert is two levels higher than the central government alert issued late on Monday night. Quintana Roo tourism officials said that Cozumel's 1715 tourists will be evacuated.
